How to Make Linux Boot a Floppy Disk

    • 1). Insert your floppy disk into your floppy disk drive.

    • 2). Restart your Linux computer.

    • 3). Use an online chart (see References) or look onscreen to find out which key you need to press to access the BIOS on your Linux computer. Once you have located the name of the appropriate key, press it.

    • 4). Enter the "Boot" menu in your BIOS. Highlight the "1st Boot Device" menu listing and change it to read the model number of your computer's floppy drive.

    • 5). Select "Exit and Save Changes." Your Linux computer will now boot from your floppy disk.
