How to Find the Degrees in Celsius

    Converting Fahrenheit to Celsius

    • 1). Write down this formula: C = (F-32) /1.8.

    • 2). Replace F in the formula with the temperature in Fahrenheit. At 10 degrees Fahrenheit, for example, write C = (10-32)/1.8.

    • 3). Calculate the answer, using the correct order of operations. Calculate the numbers inside the brackets first, then do the division: C = -22/1.8, then C = -12.2. So, for the example, 10 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to -12.2 degrees Celsius.

    Converting Kelvin to Celsius

    • 1). Write down this formula: C = K - 273.15.

    • 2). Replace the K in the formula with the temperature in kelvins. For example, at 261 kelvins, write C = 261 - 273.15.

    • 3). Calculate the answer: C = -12.15. In our example, a temperature of 261 kelvins is equal to -12.5 degrees Celsius
