A brief explanation of e-liquid. E-liquid or e-juice as it is also known is the liquid that goes into an electronic cigarette cartridge which then is vaporized by the atomizer to form the vapour that looks like smoke. Electronic cigarettes are an alternative to smoking. Be it healthier than smoking in the way that the liquid that is vaporized has only 3 ingredients and none of the carcinogens that are contained in an analogue cigarette.
Back to Dekang as this is the main subject of this article. Dekang's e-liquid use to be an excellent one in flavour and also in ingredients. A few months ago the main pharmacist of Dekang, the man that is in possession of all the recipes of the various e-liquids that Dekang produce and there are no less than 150 of them. The pharmacist has decided for whatever reason to leave Dekang and go work for Hangsen.
I run an electronic cigarette website vapourettes and up until recently i use to buy all my e-liquids from Dekang. Very nice people to deal with no doubt about it but the last few batches i had off them i noticed the taste of the liquids has changed.
The ingredients are very much the same but it is the mixture i suspect that has changed. Maybe a little more of this and less of the other will affect the final taste of a given liquid.
I always visit different forums of electronic cigarettes and in one of them i found a thread about the pharmacist of Dekang leaving to Hangsen. I subsequently contacted Dekang and confirmed from them the the pharmacist has actually left for another company.
Dekang have always used high quality ingredients in the manufacture of their e-liquids so there is no problem there. It is the formula that matters really. The percentages of PG, VG, flavour is the main thing. Nicotine content is the same across all e-liquids be it in different strengths ofcourse.
After a few weeks i decided to place an order with Hangsen. I ordered e-liquids that i already had from Dekang so i can compare the 2. E-liquid tastes are a very personal thing. What i love maybe what you won't like. My favourite is 555 state express flavour. Of late from Dekang i noticed the flavour has changed so when i ordered from Hangsen i made sure one of the flavours to try would be 555. When it arrived i was elated as i got the taste i was used to came back. So it became very obvious that the pharmacist from Dekang is the very same new pharmacist at Hangsen. Also when i asked about a Cohiba and Red USA flavors which were not on Hangsen's list of flavor's, I was told we cannot do that as it is not on the list. So i said to the lady i am dealing with. "Can you ask your pharmacist if he can do it" She replied the next day by saying "yes he can do it" which was a further confirmation that he is the same person.
Further more. A representative from Hangsen was on a UK forum and he was open to questions from fellow vapers as they wanted to be reassured as to the content of the e-liquid they use if it is from Hangsen. A big question that is always being asked by most vapers is about the DEG Dyetheline glycol also commonly known as antifreeze content in e-liquids which is classed as poison. People in general do not like to be inhaling even a small quantity of DEG and a lot of vapors tend to stay away from PG based ejuices and stay with VG purely for the fact that PG may contain traces of DEG.
Hangsen use DOW's PG which is imported from the USA. This PG (Propylene Glycol) is of a pharmaceutical grade which means that it has no DEG in it. That was very reassuring to us vapers.
In conclusion i thought to share this info with articlebase readers and give you an insight into the manufacturing of e-liquid.
