Speed and Braking
- The 2005-07 Mustang V6 accelerates from zero to 60 miles an hour in a brisk 6.6 seconds in manual trim and 6.9 seconds with the automatic gearbox. Quarter-mile times are 15 and 15.3 seconds, respectively. Braking distance is on the long side, with stops from 60 mph requiring 130 feet.
- The V6 for the 2005-07 Mustang has a displacement of four liters and a simple design. A single overhead camshaft controls 12 valves. Maximum power is 210 hp at 5,250 rpm, while peak torque is 240 foot-pounds coming in at 3,500 rpm. Transmission choices for the '05, '06 and '07 years were a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic driving the rear wheel. All-wheel drive was not offered.
- Like all prior versions, the 05-07 V6 is a two-door, four-seat coupe. The sporty design meant a somewhat cramped rear seat and low roof, with an overall height of just 54.4 inches. The rear track measures 62.3 inches with tires pushed to the edges for maximum grip. Weight is between 3,350 and 3,450 pounds, depending on configuration.
