How to Make Maps Out of Flour Dough

    • 1). Trace the outline of the map onto the parchment or kraft paper.

    • 2). Mix the flour and salt in a ratio of 3-to-1. Add water to give the dough the consistency of clay.

    • 3). Apply the dough to the outline of the map, mounding it higher for hills or mountains, while maintaining the rough scale of the map.

    • 4). Allow the dough to dry completely. You may speed the drying by putting the baking sheet in the oven, which you've set at 250 degrees F.

    • 5). Paint the landforms on your map. Add a legend for the colors and a compass rose.
