How Remove a Virus on Win32

    • 1). Open Microsoft's "Malicious Software Removal Tool." To do so, select "Run" from you computer's Start menu and type "MRT." This application comes installed with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003. If you cannot find it, download a new copy from "Resources" listed below.

    • 2). Click "Next."

    • 3). Select "Full Scan." While this takes longer than the default "Quick Scan," it is more likely to find and remove a WIN32 virus.

    • 4). Click "Next." Wait for the scan to finish.

    • 5). Follow the prompts that appear to remove any WIN32 viruses as well as handle any other bugs your computer might have.

    • 6). Click "Finish."

    • 7). Restart your computer.
