The restaurant is in a long, narrow property which houses next-door Atelier André Meurer and Luciana Machado. Some of the tables are placed in the light of the small open courtyard.
When I stopped by, I asked chef Crobu which of his own dishes he prefers.
"Camarão Les Olives," he said, "shrimp in a red and yellow pepper sauce with celery rice. I also recommend the moqueca caiçara, bobó de camarão and risoto marinado."
Chef Crobu and his wife also own a pousada in Paraty: Pousada Provence in the Caburê district, a very short walk from the Pontal Bridge entrance to Centro Histórico.
The rate for a double room in summer 2010 is R$198, a pretty reasonable price for Paraty.
