Manufactured Home Site Preparation

    Accessibility

    • While it may be easy to drive a vehicle such as a car, SUV or truck to the site, room has to be made for the truck transporting the manufactured home. Roads near the site have to be able to support the weight of the truck and the manufactured home.

    Soil

    • While the soil at the site will need to be leveled, it will have to be graded and sloped to accommodate water run-off so that the site will not flood. The soil will also need to be compacted by a professional with heavy equipment. Compacting is one aspect of site preparation that should not be do-it-yourself, unless you have adequate equipment.

    Landscaping

    • Although landscaping for site preparation can be a tool to increase the aesthetic appeal of the site, removal of trees, rocks and debris is a requirement.
