How to Clean In-Line Skates

  • 1

Wipe skates with a soft, damp cloth.

  • 2

Remove wheels with an Allen wrench and wipe the bearings with a soft cloth to remove dirt.

  • 3

Spin the wheels. If any spin slowly, they may have a problem with their bearings or they may still be dirty. If a second cleaning doesn't do the trick, consider replacing the bearings or consult a professional.

  • 4). Remove the wheels and towel off the bearings if the skates get wet. Add 3-in-1 oil (found in most hardware stores) to prevent rusting.
