How to Remove eMachines Expansion Cards

    • 1). Power down the computer. Unplug the power cable from the back of the computer. Disconnect and remove all external devices. Wear an antistatic wrist strap as you work inside the computer to prevent electrical damage.

    • 2). Rotate the computer tower so the back panel is facing toward you. Lay the computer horizontally on its left side. Remove the two Phillips-head screws fastening the right access panel to the computer. Grasp the molded grip on the side access panel. Remove the side panel from the computer to reveal its internal components.

    • 3). Locate the expansion cards attached to the computer's back panel. Remove the single Phillips-head screw from the card you want to remove. Grasp the outside edge of the card's circuit board, and lift straight up to disconnect the card from its motherboard connector. Remove the card from the computer. Repeat this procedure for each expansion card you want to remove.
