Guide Review - Co Co. Sala Restaurant Review

This unique restaurant/lounge is geared to the chocolate lover and is best for a late night treat. The menu features a selection of multi-course chocolate desserts with flavors derived from cuisines of various countries. These sweet five-course tastings start at $30. There are also unique dessert cocktails, eclectic beers, wines, and liqueurs featuring chocolate and coffee flavors. Pastries and handmade chocolates can also be boxed to take home.

Co Co. Sala specializes in desserts, but also infuses chocolate and coffee flavors into its light fare. The menu is limited to small plates which include gourmet mac n cheese, crab cakes, sliders (spicy Moroccan swordfish, blue cheese stuffed sirloin burger and tandoori spiced chicken sandwiches), and salads.

These dishes are tasty and artfully prepared and presented.

The upscale restaurant offers a sophisticated, sleek d├ęcor using rich jewel tones of red, gold and chocolate brown. Co Co. Sala seats 112 plus 30 at the two bars. Plans are in place to add outdoor dining with 30 seats. A private party/dining room will be available fall 2008, and will be able to accommodate up to 60 for a seated dinner or 80 for a cocktail reception. A rooftop deck, with gorgeous views of the Washington monument, will also be accessible to large scale receptions for up to 400 guests.
