"Uptown Funk!" is now only the 19th song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to spend at least 11 weeks at #1. Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" is unable to keep up and after eight weeks in the runner-up spot, it drops a notch and Maroon 5 take over at #2 with "Sugar."  The rest of the top 5 is static, but there is a new song roaring into the top 10. Sam Smith surges 50 notches to #8 this week with "Lay Me Down." It is his third top 10 hit as a lead solo artist. A new recording of the song John Legend spearheads the surge. Alternative pop band Walk the Moon have their first breakout pop hit with "Shut Up and Dance" leaping a big 15 notches to #21 this week. Mumford and Sons return with the single "Believe" and a strong shift away from their neo-folkie sound. Jason Derulo is back with a strong #45 opening for his new hit "Want To Want Me."
