Broadcom WiFi Card Won't Work With Kubuntu

    • 1). Open a Terminal (Applications, Accessories, Terminal) and type "sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart." This restarts your wireless connection. Sometimes your wireless drivers can become oversaturated with packets of wireless data, preventing new information from making its way through.

    • 2). Click "System" then "Administration" and open "Hardware Drivers." Highlight your Broadcom WiFi card and click "Deactivate." Restart your system, open "Hardware Drivers" again. Select your Broadcom card again and choose "Activate."

    • 3). Type "~$ sudo apt-get update

~$ sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source" into Terminal. This downloads, installs and updates the Broadcom drivers on your system. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
