    • North Georgia College and State University lies in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is one hour north of Atlanta. Attending college in this small town makes it easier to build lasting friendships. North Georgia is the second oldest university in Georgia and is heralded as the first to admit female students. Approximately 5,000 thousand students attend classes and choose from over 50 majors. The school is a senior military college and 13 percent of its population is involved with the Army ROTC.

    • Chattahoochee Technical College is a part of Georgia's Technical College System. Chattahoochee is one of the many other colleges designed to "grow with the region" and increase the number of educated workers. This institution collaborates with other technical colleges in the local area to service the population of six counties. Chattahoochee also has a virtual component called ANGEL, which allows the student to take online courses from the convenience of his home.

    • The University of Georgia at Athens was founded in 1801 and was included in the "U.S. News and World Reports" as one of the top 50 public universities in 2008. Also in 2008, the school broke its own record by enrolling 34,180 students. This was the highest enrollment in this institution's history. The University of Georgia has a fabulous research library, housing over 4 million volumes. It also has one of the largest map collections in the country.
