How to Get Hard-Water Spots Out of a Dishwasher

    • 1). Open the appliance door to empty the dishwasher.

    • 2). Fill the detergent dispenser with hard-water stain remover or fill a dishwasher-safe cup with white vinegar and set the cup on the top rack.

    • 3). Run a heavy-duty washing cycle to completion.

    • 4). Scrub the interior walls of the appliance as well as the dish racks with a toothbrush to remove the coarse residue of hard-water spots.

    • 5). Wipe down the walls and the interior side of the door with a damp sponge before closing the appliance.
