How to Calculate the Quarter End for an Odd Fiscal Year End
- 1). Determine the start date of your fiscal year.
- 2). Count forward three full months from your calculation. For example, if your fiscal year begins on Feb. 8, counting forward three months brings you to June 8.
- 3). Subtract one day from your three-month calculation. In the above example, if you subtract one day, the result is June 7. This is the end of the first quarter in your odd fiscal year. For each quarter, use the same steps to determine the end dates of your second, third and fourth quarters for your odd fiscal year. Use the date you calculate in Step 2 as the start date of the next quarter. In the example above, the second quarter begins on June 8.
