How to Make Brownies With Unsweetened Chocolate

    • 1). Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour the bottom and sides of an 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish. Set aside.

    • 2). In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. When completely melted, add 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate. As soon as the chocolate is melted, add 1 1/4 cups sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add two eggs and stir continuously until combined. Set aside.

    • 3). In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1 cup chocolate chips. Adding your wet mixture, mix until all ingredients are incorporated.

    • 4). Spread the thick mixture into the greased pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    • 5). Cool brownies for about 10 minutes and then spread chocolate icing on them. Put the brownies in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to set. Once icing has set, take the brownies out of the refrigerator and store at room temperature.
