How to Burn DVDs to a Disk

    How to Burn a Video File to DVD

    • 1). Burn a video file by opening Windows Media Center and inserting a recordable DVD into your DVD drive. Choose the "Burn a CD or DVD" option. Click "Video DVD" from the Select Disc Format menu and click "Next."

    • 2). Name your DVD and click "Next." From the Select Media menu, click "Recorded TV or Video Library" and then click "Next."

    • 3). Add the video file by clicking the check box next to the one you want to burn and click "Next." Click "Add More" to add further files.

    • 4). Click "Burn DVD" on the Review & Edit List screen. Click "Yes" on the Initiating Copy screen. Click "Done" in the Completing Disc Creation screen, when the disc is finished.

    How to Create a Data DVD

    • 1). Create a data CD or DVD by opening Windows Media Center and inserting a recordable DVD into your DVD drive. Choose the "Burn a CD or DVD" option. Click either "Data CD" or "Data DVD" from the Select Disc Format menu and click "Next."

    • 2). Name your DVD and click "Next." From the Select Media menu, click the type of file you want to add and then click "Next."

    • 3). Add the files by clicking the check boxes next to the ones you want to burn and click "Next." Click "Add More" to add further files.

    • 4). Click "Burn DVD" or "Burn CD" on the Review & Edit List screen. Click "Yes" on the Initiating Copy screen. Click "Done" in the Completing Disc Creation screen when the disc is finished.

    How to Create a DVD Slideshow

    • 1). Create a DVD slide show with music by opening Windows Media Center and inserting a recordable DVD into your DVD drive. Choose the "Burn a CD or DVD" option. Click "DVD Slide Show" from the Select Disc Format menu and click "Next."

    • 2). Name your DVD slide show and click "Next." From the Select Media menu, click "Music Library" and then click "Next."

    • 3). Click the album, genre, songs or playlist you want to use in your slide show and then click "Next." Click "Add More" from the Review & Edit List screen.

    • 4). Click "Picture Library" from the Select Media menu and click "Next." Click the folder that contains the pictures to include in your slide show. Click each picture to include and click "Next."

    • 5). Click "Burn DVD" or "Burn CD" on the Review & Edit List screen. Click "Yes" on the Initiating Copy screen. Click "Done" in the Completing Disc Creation screen when the disc is finished.
