- Throw a 30th birthday party for a group.happy birthday image by Ewe Degiampietro from Fotolia.com
More people make for more fun at a party, but keeping a large group occupied during a 30th birthday party can become a chore unless you have an event or activity planned. At 30, the birthday honoree and her friends are likely too old for a trip to a children's amusement park, but not old enough to want to sit the whole duration of the party and talk. Find a happy medium between these with group activities and games perfect for young 20 and 30 somethings.

Plan an outdoor activity by combining a picnic with a game. Gather together a large group and divide into two or four teams. Have the teams pair off for games of flag football, which requires no tackling. Not only does a physical activity help to break the ice, it gets the young party goers up and having fun at the party instead of sitting bored. Other possible games to play with groups are soccer, softball or kickball.
- Host a masked ball or costume party for a memorable 30th birthday.mask image by Lovrencg from Fotolia.com
Do not wait until Halloween to use your costume. Host a masked ball and have all of the guests wear costumes and masks. During the party vote for who wore the best costume that night. Such an event can take place in a rented banquet hall or in your own backyard, depending on the number of guests who come.
- For the more artistic and less athletically inclined, opt for a crafting party. Pottery studios offer party bookings for large and small groups. These events allow the attendees to choose a piece of pottery for painting at the event which the studio then fires for pickup at a later date. Alternatively, sign up your group for an art class at a local craft store or with an art teacher who offers such services. Scrapbooking and jewelry making classes can fill quickly so book your party early. Do such activities during the day or on a weekend making it easier for young parents attending the party to return to their children before bedtime.
