- Black or Brown Cap/Hat
- Large Leaves (Fronds) from Fake Fern or Similar Plant
- 3 - 4-Inch Styrofoam Balls
- Padding Foam or Cardboard
- Needle and Thread or Glue
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a story about the letters of the alpabet climbing a coconut tree. This is a great costume for preschoolers! Learn more about this book from Liz at About.com's children's Books site.
Paint 2 or 3 styrofoam balls brown to look like coconuts.
Sew or glue several fern fronds (leaves) onto the cap/hat. Glue or sew on the stryofoam balls so the hat looks like the top of a coconut tree.
Cut different 5 - 6-Inch lower-case letters from the padding foam or cardboard. Paint letters different colors.
Once the paint on the letters is dry, glue or sewing them all over the brown sweatsuit so it looks like they are climbing the tree!
