Founded by Carlyle Weinberger in 1945, the Ashley Company started out as a sales organization, with its headquarters located in Arcadia, Wisconsin. In 1970, Ashley opened its first factory specializing in occasional tables and wall systems, and Arcadia continues to be the core manufacturing and distribution center for the Ashley Companies. Ashley Furniture has continued to evolve as the largest furniture retailers in the U.S.
Today, Ashley Furniture has had half a century to grow and mature. From what was once a small factory to now, more than 3 million square feet and six different locations, Ashley Furniture has transitioned into three separate operating divisionsAshley Case goods, Ashley Upholstery and Millennium.
