How to Optimize a Eee PC with XP

    • 1). Defragment the Eee PC's hard drive. Click "Start," then "My Computer." Right-click "Local Disk (C:)" and select "Properties" from the pop-up list. Click the "Tools" tab, then click "Defragment Now." Click the "Defragment" button to defragment the drive.

    • 2). Delete the temporary Internet Explorer files stored on the Eee PC. Open Internet Explorer, then click "Tools" from the menu bar. Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down list. Click the "Delete" button under "Temporary Internet Files" in the General tab.

    • 3). Disable the Visual Effects in Windows XP. Click "Start," then right-click "My Computer" and select "Properties" from the pop-up list. Click the "Advanced" tab in the System Properties window. Click the "Settings" button in the Performance box. The Performance Options window will open. Click the check box next to "Adjust for best performance" in the Visual Effects tab. Click "OK" to close the window, then Click "OK" in the System Properties window.
