How to Install Spray Foam Into Existing Walls

    • 1). Find the studs in your wall using an electronic stud finder. Mark each one with a pencil mark along the baseboard.

    • 2). Cut a hole big enough to allow in the spray foam tube between each pair of studs. Use a drill to cut the right diameter hole.

    • 3). Follow the manufacturer's instructions for spraying in the foam insulation as each brand is slightly different. After the space between the studs is full, move on to the next pair and continue spraying in the insulation.

    • 4). Place wallboard mesh tape over each hole and spackle over it. Paint to match the walls.
