Hillyer College Admission Requirements
High School Courses
- Admission to Hillyer College at the University of Hartford requires students to be a graduate of an accredited secondary school. Hillyer College asks for 16 units of secondary subjects, including 14 in college preparatory subjects like English, math, history, social studies and science. At least two credits of high school foreign language are encouraged but not required for admission.
Application and Fees
- You can apply to Hillyer college through a paper application or on the University of Hartford's website with their electronic application. There are no admission preferences in using one application method over another because all applications are considered on an individual basis.
Most colleges charge an application fee to apply. The University of Hartford charges a $35 nonrefundable application fee for paper applications, but as of January 2011, Hillyer College and the University of Hartford waive the admission fee of $35 if you use the online application instead of the paper method.
- You must submit an essay with your application entailing why you want to attend Hillyer college, placing emphasis on your talents, interests and various strengths. If you would rather, you can also include a sample of your writing instead.
Transcript and Tests
- You need to send a copy of your transcripts from your high school or other colleges attended and a copy of your SAT or ACT scores to the University of Hartford Office of Admission after your application has been submitted.
