The Installation of Two-Tier Colonial Shutters

    Installation of Two-Tier Colonial Shutters

    • 1). Hold the top shutters up to the window so they’re centered and level. Mark the top and outside of the hanging strip. While still holding the shutters, have a helper hold the bottom panels up so that they meet the top panels. Take down the top panels and trace the top and outside of the bottom panel hanging strips.

    • 2). Remove the hinge pins from both sets of panels. Hold the strips up to the marked spots and screw them into the wall one at a time.

    • 3). Reattach the top panel to the hanging strip and reinsert the hinge pins. Repeat this for the bottom panels.

    • 4). Screw the magnetic catches into the panels. You will need a catch for the top and another one for the bottom of each panel.

    • 5). Cover the screws with button plugs.

    • 6). Open the panels to make sure they swing correctly and line up with each other.
