I'm not going to travel right away. How far ahead in advance should I book a hotel?
What if I suddenly need to change or cancel my reservation after I pay?
How do I know whether you guys are real and I'm really getting a reservation?
Q: How do I make a hotel reservation for China?
There are several simple steps:
Step 1: Request for Quote
Please use our Reservation Form or or send us your reservation request direct by email or fax. You simply fill in the reservation form which is linked to each published Hotel! For an urgent Reservation (less than 3 days before check-in date) you also can call our Reservation Hotline at 86-10-5166 1575 or 5869 9359. 86 is the country code for China, 10 is the city code for Beijing, where our reservation office is. Request for quote is no-cost and non-obligation to you. In addition, we do not ask for any credit card or payment details upfront.
Your reservation order should include the following details:
Step 2: Wait for Quote
Usually our staff will attend to your request within 1-2 business days. In his or her reply, our staff will offer you a complimentary, temporary reservation and give you a cancellation deadline by which to respond. This means you will have time to think about your options, shop around and decide. Also if you have to change your travel plan you may cancel your reservation without any obligation. You don't have to do anything in particular if you do not want to accept our offer, but we surely would appreciate the courtsey of a reply. The deadline is usually one week before your check-in date, or two weeks after the quote, which ever comes first.
Step 3: Accept the
Quote and Pay
If you accept our offer, you must respond to confirm and arrange payments in
most cases by the specified deadline. If you don't the temporary reservation
will expire automatically after the deadline. All hotel rates you get
from our staff are specially negotiated rates exclusive for CBW.com visitors
and are usually about 30-50% below the hotels rack rate. They can not be combined
with other offers, such as airline employee discounts. You only
can enjoy these rates and offered benefits if your reservation is made through
our website! If you don't like our offer, we encourage you to shop around.
We do not offer price matching.
We accept one of the following

At certain other hotels, you will not need to prepay and you can pay at the hotel when you check in. You will be instructed by our reservation staff regarding the details.
Step 5: Enjoy your trip!
Q: I'm not really sure where I want to stay. Can you suggest some hotels other than what I indicated in the form?
Of course. Our knowledgeable staff can always suggest some better alternatives, such as comparable hotels in similar location, quality but with a lower price; or a better hotel at the same price. It is up to you to decide which hotel you would like to take.
Q: I'm not going to travel right away. How far ahead in advance should I book a hotel?
During special events such as the Canton Fair or during a peak season, many hotels are fully booked one week in advance. Also, the hotel price will vary dramtically before, during and after the events. For example, a modest 3-star hotel near the Canton Fair Grounds in Guangzhou will increase from $40 to $100 during the Fair. We recommend you make your reservation one month ahead for peak seasons or major events, two weeks ahead for slow seasons.
Q: What if I suddenly need to change or cancel my reservation after I pay?
Please read our Terms of Usage carefully before you take our offer.
Q: What if I need to check out early or change hotels after I check in?
Yes, you can change your hotel if you don't like it when you check in. However, any changes much go through us. We will refund you or charge you more (with your permission) for any difference in the total amount due. The $25.00 administration fee applies unless we offer to waive it under certain circumstances.
The price we quote is always in U.S. dollars unless specified otherwise, and includes the hotel tax or service charge (15 to 20%). It often includes a free breakfast too. The hotel may ask for a deposit against incidental charges, such as telephone, laundry service, etc. The amount varies from hotel to hotel.

Usually, no. You are paying us, ASM Overseas Corporation, to qualify for the special discount. If you pay at the hotel, you will be treated as a walk-in customer and must pay whatever rate they want to give you. Only with certain partner hotels you may pay when you check in at the hotel. Please follow our reservation staff's instruction.
How do I know whether you guys are real and I'm really getting a reservation?
This is a question easy to answer but tought to prove since everything is "virtual." ASM Overseas Corporation is a part of the ASM (Asia System Media) group , a well-known media company in North America which publishes the Chinese Yellow Pages and organizes the annual China Expo. We have been doing online hotel reservation for several years now and saved many customers some significant dollars. Occasionally we make a mistake somewhere like all humans do, but we always try to make it up to our customers. And we never intentionally take the money and run.
Under the U.S. consumer law, you are 100% protected if we cheat you with a bogus reservation. That is one of the reasons we encourage you to use a credit card to make your payment. Also, just in case your credit card numbers was stolen and misused, your maximum loss is $50 because the credit card company will cover the rest. By the way, in our 5 years of operation online we have not encountered such an incident.
Q: I still have some questions. Whom can I ask? Can I talk to a live person?
At any time if you have any
hotel or travel reservation questions the quickest way to reach the reservation
department is by e-mail to ![]()
If you want to talk to someone,
please call our Beijing Office at
86-10-5166 1575, 5869 9359
. If you are having
problems e-mailing or faxing to Beijing or California Office, you may call our
U.S. Office at (1) 626-458-8009.
Finally, please take a survey after your trip, so we will learn how to improve our service, as well as refine our list of partners. If you are treated not very nicely in a certain hotel, do please let us know. We review the hotels' quality continuously and may consider to drop some if they do not meet their claim of quality and service level.
Thank you! (The end.)
