Xiang Quan Wine
Xiangquan wine is made in a special way. It is a combination of Xiangxi local traditional distillation techniques and modern the starch into sugars, making the hard liquor yeast fermentation, and keeping it in the distillery on a slow fire. It is quality tested and then deposited in different jars to age.
The wine is colorless, transparent and fragrant with a last after-taste--a unique, mellow, tasty and refreshing flavor. It is contained in a purple ceramic bottle which is designed by the famous Chinese painter Huang Yongyu. Xiangquan Wine is classified by the domestic experts of brewery the type of mixing fragrance--Xiangquan type. It is a newly-formed type after the five well-known types in China. The famous Chinese expert of brewery Qin Hanzhang commented like this: Xiangquan wine is featured with special raw materials, special yeast, unique package and fine taste. It is a brand new style in the variety of wines. From 1979 to 1986, it has been continuously elected the product of fine quality in Hunan province.
And winner of silver cup at the national wine contest, golden cup among the noted wines; in 1987, it was appointed wine for banquet at the CPC's 13th convention, in 1988, it won the golden prize at the First China Food Fair in 1989, it won the silver medal at the First Beijing International Fair. In March of 1993, it was designated for the banquets of 8th session of NPC and CPPCC. and in June of the same year, it won the golden prize at Bordeaux Wine Fair in France.
The famous Taiwan poet, Luofu, wrote a poem saying: "After drinking Xiangquan wine, I will get drunk for ages, if I toast again after waking, I will become an immortal spirit."0
