 China's National Accreditation Committee for Laboratories (CNACL) |
 CNACL is a national accreditation body authorized by both China's State Bureau of Technical Supervision (CSBTS) and by law; It is responsible for the unified accreditation of laboratories and the surveillance of accredited laboratories throughout China. CSBTS is the department authorized by the State Council to be responsible for unified administration of standardization, metrology, and quality. CSBTS has the function of unified administration of quality certification based on the laws governing all of China. Members of CNACL involve representatives from departments of the State Council, local governments, academic bodies, laboratories, as well as technical experts in the field of laboratory business. MISSIONS OF CNACL 1. Putting forward recommendations on national accreditation policies and technical measures for government agencies that are in line with national laws and international practices; 2. Working out procedures and criteria for laboratory accreditation; 3. Receiving applications for laboratory accreditation, organizing the assessment of applicants, and making decisions on accreditation of qualified laboratories; 4. Carrying out surveillance and scheduled re-assessments of accredited laboratories and deciding whether to maintain, suspend or withdraw certificates of accreditation; 5. Pursuing supervision over the work of appointed assessors; 6. Dealing with any appeal on laboratory accreditation and to make arbitration; 7. Participating in international laboratory accreditation activities.
