 China's Council for International Quality Assurance (CCIQA) |
 CCIQA was initiated by business communities and organizations interested in promoting quality assurance, quality standard (ISO 9000) registration, and quality management. CCIQA is authorized by China's State Bureau of Technical Supervision (CSBTS) and is formally registered as a national non-profit organization.
CCIQA was founded in May, 1994. Its establishment coincides with the emergence of a new outlook in the China's quality assurance sector and meets the need of rapid development of conformity assessment in China. CCIQA is committed: to help coordinate the efforts of introducing international standards and certification practices; to provide information, guidance and coordination on conformity assessment to Chinese industries; and to facilitate the process of integrating the Chinese economy into the international market. Under the support of CSBTS, CCIQA has expanded its operation rapidly and has:
- Founded China's Center of Training and Information for Quality Assurance. This center has trained thousands of qualified quality system assessors, lead assessors and internal quality auditors.
- Established the Beijing ISO 9000 Standard Quality System Certification Center. This center is accredited by China's National Accreditation Committee for Quality System Registration Bodies (CNACR). As an internationally recognized certification center it has established bilateral relationships with many of the world's leading quality assurance institutions.
- Published a national magazine "China Quality Assurance."
- Organized dozens of official delegations for overseas study and training and also developed hundreds of institutional members in leading Chinese firms and associations all over China.
The above mentioned activities undertaken by the CCIQA have been highly appreciated by relevant government authorities and has been strongly supported by industry. CCIQA has also gained highly-deserved publicity through its activities, and has brought the organization to the world's attention. With the approval of China's National Planning Commission (CNPC) and China's Ministry of Finance (MoF), CCIQA has obtained a number of interest-free loans from the World Bank. These loans are being used to aid, coordinate and standardize the undertakings of conformity assessment in China and to speed up their integration with international practices.
CCIQA hopes to strengthen its current standing as a major force in integrating international quality assurance and quality management into Chinese practices, and is dedicated to continuous improvement in total quality management. |
