Response Overwhelms Principal Dear BTM, Thanks once again for your report on Stars and Rain School (To Catch A Falling Star, BTM 69). We received calls and met many kind-hearted foreigners who offered to give us help in various ways. May I use your space to credit them and show my gratitude. Ms. Virginia Perry from the Hong Kong Asian Service and
Project Ltd came by bus to see our school for herself and worked with the children free
for half a day. Ms. Perry came here a second time with her French colleague, who promised to contact some similar French organizations in France. Farry, who works for an American volunteer group in Washington, also came to see our school's condition. She said she would ask some American charity groups to do something for the school. A German woman called to express her willingness to work as a volunteer for our school. Formerly employed as a special education worker in Germany, she came to China with her husband. She will now do some work for Stars and Rain. Many other companies called me to express possible plans for future cooperation. For example, Huadu Hotel told us their Christmas party may raise some money for the school. Ms. Sally Colma from the Chilean Embassy called to say that they and the Spanish Speaking Group will pay close attention to the situation of the school, hoping to set up a meeting for future cooperation. A Japanese TV channel, NHK, amongst others, has contacted the school and is currently filming a documentary on location. Frankly, we've been extremely impressed by the reaction to your report on the school. Thanks again. Tian Huiping Editor's note: Beijing Xingxingyu Education Institute for Children with
