While Susanna Foo claims to be "North America's Finest Chinese Cook" on the
cover of her cookbook, The Zagat Restaurant Guide gives this claim some support by
consistently listing Susanna Foo's as one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. Foo is
known for both the fine quality of her cooking and for her eclectic approach; recipes in
her book, Susanna Foo Chinese Cuisine, demonstrate why this is so--imagine Pineapple
Salsa, to be served with dim sum, and Grilled Tuna with Jalapeņo Pepper Puree. Even
traditional recipes such as black bean sauce are presented according to Foo's taste.
Information about techniques and ingredients can be exceptionally interesting, and Foo's
personal reminiscences, which are scattered through the book, add to the pleasure of
reading.

Want authentic YUMMY Chinese tonite? Then get the book NOW!
Irene Kuo is truly a phenomenal chef. Key to Chinese Cooking is a collection of authentic
chinese recipes that is a required volume for anyone interested in Chinese cooking --
Chinese and non-Chinese alike. The recipes include regular favorites like scallion
pancakes and almost unheard of authentic connoiseur pleasers such as 1-2-3-4-5 Spareribs.
Anyone can make these dishes easily with Kuo's easy-to-follow steps. A perfect Chinese
cookbook, only matched by real Chinese cookbooks, in which case, you'd have to be able to
read Chinese in order to follow it! As a Chinese, a very picky eater, and one tough
Chinese food critic, I give it an 11 out of 10!!!

Finally, a Chinese cookbook that works!
D. Wang presents all of those favorite recipes in an incredibly workable style. A few of
Wangs techniques apply to all of my efforts at reproducing restaurant dishes. The only
crime is finding this book for my own shelves rather than checking it out of the library
every week.
